Dear Parents:
We are excited about our 59th year of the Dixie Basketball Camp. We have many traditions here at camp and try to create an enthusiastic atmosphere that the boys will enjoy. Our goal is for each camper to have a positive experience, while learning how to improve their basketball skills, as well as improving their self-motivation. With more than 225 campers, we do have a set of rules (listed below) that each camper is required to follow, for their own safety and that of the rest of the camp. • Curfew is 10 p.m. Our staff checks every room, every night. We do not allow campers out of their rooms after this time. Wake up is 7:30 a.m. • Any harassing, bullying, fighting with, or stealing from other campers will not be tolerated. As such, do not trespass into other campers’ rooms unless invited. • Please stay away from the Lake at all times (except when crossing the bridge). • No messing around near windows. • No water balloons, water guns, shaving cream, or any other “fights” are allowed. • If you have any problems or injuries, please alert your coaches. Violators of any of these rules are subject to discipline or even being sent home. Please talk to your son about these important rules, so we can ensure compliance and a safe and fun week for everyone. Thank you! Finally, if your son is having a problem of any kind, please have him come see Coach Dean in Room 102 of the Men’s Dorm. Again, we want him to have a good experience here at camp, and will do everything we can to help him with any problems he may be having. You can reach us directly by at camp by calling the camp cell phone number, (205) 492-5408. Feel free to call, if we can do anything for your son during camp. Sincerely, Scott Dean Camp Director |
